Salema provides an excellent base to explore the Western Algarve.

Boca Do Rio

Access to this beach is easy but it is tucked away.  Either head east from Salema by turning right at the bus stop or turn of the EN 125 at Budens.

Scuba divers and snorkellers will want to explore the remains of a French Man of War lying just 300m offshore.
